We were the founder of one of the first pediatric residencies in the country and were the site of New Jersey's First Academic Medical University Since then, our medical professionals have made historical contributions to the world of healthcare, including the work of Dr. Edmund Burke (surgery), Dr. Samuel Cosgrove (obstetrics), Dr. Anthony Damato (heart electrophysiology), Dr. Robert Lahita (rheumatology), and Dr. Carroll Leevy (liver disease).
